The Weakonomics family are huge fans of LeVar Burton. We grew up watching him not only on Reading Rainbow but on Star Trek as well. If you don’t know of him, you should. In various interviews through the years I’ve gotten to see how truly dedicated he is to helping kids learn to read and to love it.
He started a company to develop a Reading Rainbow app for the iPad to bring the love of reading to children in the touchscreen age. The link below not only introduces you to the app, but the guy behind it. If you want to follow LeVar Burton on Twitter you can too. I advise it, as he’s very active.
