Today is International Women’s Day.  In some countries this is an official holiday.  For example, in Russia the men go out and get flowers for all the women in their lives.  I’d never heard of this day but I have no problem celebrating the political, scientific, and economic contributions of women; and just women in general.

Better still, it’s the 100th anniversary of the holiday (you didn’t think I’d forget your anniversary did you?).  So even though I talked yesterday about the wage gap in the United States, there is much more to talk about.  And even though women in the US have equal rights, that isn’t true everywhere.  I’ve rounded up a list of all kinds of stories to celebrate International Women’s Day:
