Preschoolers Have Appetite For Risk: This is an academic paper, but the gist of if says that we become risk averse by experiencing loss. The flip-side is those of us with a greater appetite for risk probably haven’t experienced much loss in their lives. Said another way, those that take the biggest chances haven’t experienced the biggest losses and may not fully comprehend the likelihood of a bet (or investment) going against them. Far from conclusive, this is something that needs to be investigated further. Intriguing nonetheless.
