Wow. Greedy much? There were thinking this would someone slip under the radar? If they had settled for an extra 5-6K, nobody would have heard about this ...

My wife and I buy from a dealer who doesn't do this crap. He makes an offer, we counter, and we settle somewhere in the middle. No offers to sell rustproofing or anything like that, no fancy business with the numbers.

If people aren't comfortable buying a car on their own, there is absolutely no shame taking a trusted friend or relative along to give advice. And at least glance at a Blue Book beforehand. They're not perfect, but they'll give you a baseline.

Of course, in this case, it wouldn't have helped, since she didn't go to the dealership to buy a car.

The fact that Mazda terminated the dealership agreement speaks volumes. Have you ever heard of this occurring as the result of single transaction?

FYI - they fired the salesman that sold her the car, refunded some money (all? I can't recall), and the regulatory body is going after the dealership. She isn't getting a free car however.

Mazda also terminated their dealership agreement with the Orangeville Mazda.

Based on all this, there is clearly more to it then just shaming the women who is on disability. It seems that the dealership wasn't very ethical otherwise the rapid, quick, and harsh punishments wouldn't have been so forthcoming.
