		<description>A good question is WHY the government wishes to encourage home ownership. Does living in an apartment make you a worse person?

		<description>&quot;So who does it help? As a future home-buyer I suspect it will help me. But it also helps the wealthy. Do I need help, probably not. Do wealthy people? You tell me. So what we’ve got is a government program that puts tax revenue back into the hands of people that can afford to buy a house. I’m just not sure why this thing exists&quot;

I am not sure it helps the really wealthy as there is a cap if the loan is too large, and the AMT disallows the deduction.

Get rid of deductions and make it flat lol
