		<description>I wonder what the tax implications are.  Is this income?  A capital gain?  A gift (although it can&#039;t really be a gift, since value is exchanged).

I&#039;m also curious how many copycat ads will be appearing soon.

I paid for college with a combination of part time jobs, loans, grants, and a couple of small scholarships.  My parents were quite obviously in no position to provide financal assistance.

Post-college life would definitely have been different without the student loans to pay back.
