Boy it’s great to finally be able to type on a keyboard again. I did so much writing on my iPhone while we were in Maui that I (almost) can’t type another thing from it.

We got back from Maui yesterday and are in recovery mode as we try to adjust back to our normal eastern time. It’s always a good idea to budget in some time to recover after you’ve been on vacation. Especially if you’ve been on vacation in another time zone and it takes the better part of a full 24 hours to get back home.

I don’t talk about my personal life much, but I have been waiting until the new year to announce that I am officially married! Yay! We got married back in the fall but I didn’t want to say exactly when for privacy purposes. The Sheconomist will remain with her name, instead of becoming Mrs. Weakonomist or something else.

I wanted to get through Christmas and our trip to Maui before I reset for 2010. I’ve got a few changes going on in my life that I would also like to announce. Sometime in the second half of last year, I left my position at the large bank that employed me. This was a voluntary departure to pursue interests in better alignment with my career. Yes I worked in finance, at a bank, but banks are huge and I was not on my desired career path.

The Sheconomist and I are currently living in the DC area, though I cannot say what we are doing here, again for privacy reasons. Be rest assured, I’m even more involved with banking and Wall Street than I was before, I just can’t tell you exactly what that is.

Finally, I wanted to let you know that I’m putting together a survey to help improve Weakonomics for you. I love it the way it is, but especially now with my new career I have less time than I did before to interact with the readers. I have no idea if you like what you’re reading, or simply reading Weakonomics out of habit at this point. Once I finish the survey I’ll post a link. Your participation will be greatly appreciated because I want to make Weakonomics better for you.

Oh, and on Monday we’ll return to regular posts again. It will be a mix of the current events I’ve missed over the last week and a half, and some additional ideas I’ve picked up during my travels.

Thank you for being the best group of readers a humble blogger could ask for. Actually, that’s a lie, there are probably better readers out there and I’m not humble in the least. “A” for honesty?
