Can we just delete the post at 6:38am on Oct 30 for being 100% an attack and argumentative post?

No thesis is presented, no critique of anything, just hostility and aggression.

Thanks.

PS No need to post this followup, either. I don't mind, but it is a distraction, just like the post I'm writing about.

I’m not outraged at secret government dealings or wasteful spending, I’m once again pissed at the American public for picking the wrong battles.

I'm not understanding the distinction being made here.

In fact, I don't think it's even safe to say what battles the American public has "picked." How did they pick them and how do you know? If you are going by some poll, who conducted the poll? Maybe it was the person who conducted the poll who "picked" the battle by slanting the questions in a certain way.

It's easier to get outraged by the bonuses than the bailout because you might be able to justify it as necessary for the economy. I think the problem is the media framing the problem that focuses on the sensational, ad-selling bonuses.

So how do Americans fight back? Contacting reps in Congress gets you a nice form letter that just thanks you for your interest, then puts you on the mailing list for their next survey or plea for $$.
