I recently had the honor to be featured in a list of the Top 25 Badass Personal Finance Blogs. I’m very proud as I’d rather be featured in something like this than some other generic list. This is because I’m more of a fringe player in the personal finance blogosphere and would never appeal to the general personal finance audience.
Here’s what was said about me:
If you’re worried about not having the necessary finances when retirement comes knocking, then perhaps you should read Weakonomics to find out what is wrong with the financial system. Philip as The Weakonomist refers to himself, while showing us a picture of his adorable dog is employed by a large bank and made it his mission to rant about the sad state of affairs in the financial economy of the US of A.
By reading Philip’s site you can learn an awful lot about the mistakes made in the economy and make amends for your own personal future.
I can’t really complain about such a glowing review, especially because it mentions my “adorable dog”. And he is ain’t he?
But what makes me badass in many circumstances is my critical view of the world. And I just wouldn’t be badass if I didn’t critique a list that features me. I agree that I may be badass, and so are many on the list, but some are most definitely not. I won’t call anyone out, but if you read most of the blogs on the PF circuit you know who is BA (as Dane Cook would say) and who is not. And it’s fine not to be badass, the less rude and more well-written bloggers are the most successful by a long shot.
My last concern is that a few people were most definitely left off. Frank from Bad Money Advice might be the most badass personal finance blogger I know of. Just scan his headlines and you’ll know why. The other one I’d like to add is Bad Money Advice.
Once again I’m thankful to be on such a list of well-known bloggers. It’s cold and damp in this corner of the PF realm and this makes me proud of the work I’ve put into Weakonomics.
I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t have awesome readers though, so THANK YOU. And also thanks to CreditCardFinder.com.au for putting together the list. Next time, let’s put The Boxer into a nice caricature, that would be badass. Make sure you check out the list and see who else is a badass personal finance blogger.

I agree that you’re a badass money blogger, Phil (while being a perfectly nice individual as well). I’m happy to see that you obtained the recognition you deserved.
The link did not work for me. So I was not able to read the article.
