This new plan of wearing the wedding band on the right hand then switching it to the left hand on the wedding day has been done in South American for generations. Its the norm. I think it should be implemented here too. :) cheers,

Mens wedding rings are the symbol of marital status. This began in the late 19’s century. Before that time, wedding ring wasn’t a common tradition.

Thanks for bringing to light the reality. If you heard how the rings with multiple little diamonds along the band came about in culture you would love and laugh even more.

I think anything spent over $500 for rings is ridiculous. Stop caring what others think folks. The best ring story I have ever heard comes from my aunt and uncle. They decided to get married sometime in their 20's, but didn't have that much money coming in yet. They decided to head to the flea market one weekend, each have something like $20 and meet up 30 minutes later with their wedding rings. They didn't care about the ring. They cared more about each other. They had a small wedding, lived their life financially smart, and today, they are in their early 50's, retired and comfortable. They are what I consider minimalist and great jewelry purchasers.

"She knows what’s coming next and you know she’ll say yes"

Heh. My experience wasn't nearly so confident. (Turned out she did say yes though!)

As to management rings, I agree. I think the idea is great.

Shoot, I bought my hubby a claddagh band shortly before we were engaged. I was wearing one too. It was about $18, and instead of having the heart & crown outside the band, they were engraved on it.

I think I got it for him right around the time he started teaching college courses. Gotta let those freshmen girls know he's not available. ;)

I like your idea about switching rings from hand to hand, though it could cause some cultural barriers because people in some other countries wear their wedding rings on the right hand. But as it is, I don't wear my engagement ring and wedding band together much. Right now I'm wearing the engagement ring because the wedding band only fits in the winter. I'll switch off in Sept. I dunno what I'd do if they both fit all the time.
