I strongly agree. We very much need strong competition for Google. But being &quot;just as good&quot; is not going to cut it at this point. Google is too far ahead.

		<description>Any new search engine, today, must prove itself against Google: if you can&#039;t beat Google, you must do something new (--&gt; Wolfram Alpha). If you will try the same field than Google, the &quot;simple&quot; Web search, you cannot be worse than Google: you are destined to die.

Of course, if your brand is Microsoft, you&#039;ll have tons of browsers installation with you used as a default browser... People is lazy, won&#039;t change that default...

I do find it interesting that Google created this alternate dimension to marketing. One of the primary rules of creating a brand was always to let the person know what you were trying to sell them as clearly as possible. Now it seems the ultimate goal is to re-brand an action or service with your tag. I wonder how this evolution will effect unexpected things like language structure, and how it will continue to change business.

		<description>I tried Bing and I actually liked it. It&#039;s not necessarily better than Google but it&#039;s a huge improvement over what Live or MSN search used to be, to a point I don&#039;t mind using it as my main search engine. To be able to close a huge gap in terms of relevancy is a great accomplishment. The integration between a product search and Bing cashback is done quite nicely. I can see it gaining market share. Although Bing is not toppling Google yet, it doesn&#039;t have to. Like Coke and Pepsi, both can exist in the market.
