Even us English Bulldog owners deal with people thinking our dogs are automatically aggressive. Although I think it has more to do with the exposed teeth than Michael Vick.

I'm hoping he does play in the NFL again...and gets sacked every down.

DD’s last blog post..Importance Of Good Real Estate Listing Photos(With Pictures)

Thanks for all the comments, and Dave, that is a great site. It took me more than 10 guesses to get it right.

That was nicely balanced write-up.

I believe that the individual needs to bear personal responsibility for his actions. But I also think you are right to note that the sports industry contributes by encouraging bad behavior and by failing to do much to stop bad behavior. We live in communities. When one of us acts so badly, it is a sign that there is something lacking in the community in which that person learned or failed to learn what behavior is acceptable and what behavior is not acceptable.

Despite being from NY, I am a HUGE falcon fan and have since had to buy a new Jersey since I obviously can't wear Vick's anymore.

Weakonomist, want make a dog diaper out of it?

I wouldn't want him on any team I was associated with, even if it meant winning years forever. The kind of person that would participate in a dogfighting ring has a cruelty in their heart that I would want to avoid.

Here is an interesting website that asks the visitor to spot the pitbull in a large group of dog photos. Amazingly, only one of the dogs is a pitbull. It's a shame that so many dogs are mistakingly identified, and even more of a shame that so many trashy no-class people mistreat and mistrain pitbulls, which would otherwise be the devoted and amazing animal that they were born to be. Their only fault is a genetic predisposition for strong musculature and powerful jaws, traits which are so often abused and misused by trash like Vick.

Oh those troublesome Vick brothers... as a Hokie alum, the drama these two (Michael and Marcus) caused was uniquely painful to watch.

Personally, I can't wait to see the outspoken 1% of the media generate 99% of the anti-Vick buzz. Like it or not, he's paid his debt to society.

I own an American Bulldog/American Pit Bull Terrier mix.

Cutest, most gentle, caring dog EVER.

People get scared when they see her but if they give her a chance her temperament is amazing.

F' Michael Vick. At least they rehab'd his dogs and made a TV show detailing all the good his dogs have been doing.
