Ah, yes, the Swine Flu outbreak. I'll be honest, I've cultured more dangerous diseases than this to pass my undergraduate classes. If you simply take normal precautions (hint: don't lick people who have the flu), you should be fine.

But, of course, 'you'll be fine' doesn't fill those 24 hour airwaves.

"Boy the media loves it when they can talk about something you might be scared of that you can’t control. "

I hate listening to the news for that reason. What can I really do to affect the recession or the swine flu? Very little. I'd much rather focus on what I can control than what I can't control.

A good article by studying and comparing todays two top most issues. Appreciation really required to have such niche article that may most of the money blogger not thought about.

Awesome take on a topic that has taken over the media by storm (and I'm ashamed to say - my own blog, although I used the opportunity to give everyone some useful tips).

I heard just a few hours ago that they're trying to confirm cases within our border, so the media feeding frenzy may just be beginning.

Turning off my news now to watch NCIS.

I like the picture =)
But is it really appropriate =O?!

I thought one reason it's covered more often is just b/c it's more exotic than illegal immigrants or backyard drownings... in appropriate allocation of time and fear =)

You get an A+ for your creativity and marvelous ability to compare and contrast.

Faux News?? That's a new one on me, but certainly apropos. For once, the SE is ahead of us in the Upper Midwest.

Good take on it. To be honest, I rarely watch the news (often to my own detriment) because it really sickens me how the media can spin things wildly out of control.
