“What relationship?” is more like it right?  In the past you’d be right.  The priorities of yore were “Ice, Cash, Hoes, and Cars” though not necessarily in that order.  And while those will likely remain very important to the hip-hop scene, a new trend is emerging.  Some songs in the past couple of years are illustrating the benefits of perhaps obtaining the previously mentioned hoe that does not require a hip-hop artist’s financial support.  What I’m saying is that some rappers are doing songs that are promoting hard work, paying off debt, and fiscal responsibility.  I’ve written a post at cleverdude.com that provides some examples of recent Billboard hits that do just that.  As a teaser, I’ve embedded the music video of one of these songs.  Oh, and be sure to read the comments of the post on Clever Dude because the readers had more examples.
