[...] 10 Things I hate about Economists - One of the latest additions to my blog watchlist, the Weakonomist notes many of the flaws with economics. A lot of his criticism seems to be well founded, since economics (as currently practiced) tends to be uniquely situated in our society, holding the ears of politicians, businessmen, and even scientists with their explanations and theories. Which wouldn’t be so bad, if they had a better track record.
Heh, interesting stuff. I've found most social scientists to meet many of the same qualifications you've noted for economists (maybe not the White, Jewish, and Bearded comment, but the other ones, certainly). The 'In Theory' comment in particular sent my mind back to all my psychology courses; the only thing you can say for certain about human behavior is that it will NOT be logical in aggregate.

I throw in my vote for pussynomics. You could rant about economics, and tear apart each economist in a weekly feature.. :)

I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment, especially with assuming everyone is rational.

Although if you are a student of Hegelian philosophy... it may be quite a good marriage.

I am brand new to the blog -- hope all your future posts are as irreverent and as passionate as this one was.
