Your first thought might have been that I’m a huge Virginia Tech fan.  That isn’t quite true, I’m marrying into a Virginia Tech family.  This weekend my fiance and I are traveling to Blacksburg, VA to visit her cousin, a current student at the school.

We also want to go because we haven’t made a trip to see the campus since that awful day almost two years ago.  My fiance’s cousin had class in the building that was the epicenter of the massacres, though thankfully she skipped class that day due to the weather.  Though it will be a sobering experience to visit the memorial, I must also say I’m looking forward to the trip.  Hitting the road with The Sheconomist is one of my favorite things to do.  We never travel very far, but we love to spend hours in the car together.  Since I also went to school that is very important to the town’s economy I love to visit these types of universities as well.

In other news I’m sure you are aware March Madness is in full swing.  If you’re the type to fill out a bracket, there’s no doubt you’ve probably thrown it away by now after such random disappointments as Wake Forest losing to Cleveland St or Arizona’s win over Utah.  It takes me a while to get into the basketball mood but once March hits I do get the bug.  Even if I haven’t heard of either team, I can’t help but watch the games because there are always so many surprises.  So between exploring the campus and spending time with a future in-law I’ll be checking the scores.

One last quick note.  Next week will see the return of our theme weeks.  No hints on the subject, but we are less than a month away from tax deadlines so… it will probably be about Star Wars.
