I do know back during the height of the house buying madness, a coworker managed to buy a $175K house with no down payment on a $26k p/year income. Madness. We asked her how on earth that was possible and she said she didn't know, but the people at the builders said she had great credit and it was okay, so it must have been. But TV is TV, people shouldn't make an investment decision based on something on TV any more than they should based on flipping a coin.
