Like Alex, I haven&#039;t heard about this either.  But it&#039;s been a long day at work and I haven&#039;t even searched the Wall Street Journal yet (usually my first visit after dinner.)  It does make sense that alot of redundant jobs may have existed, thus the reason for many of the layoffs.  I can&#039;t speak from personal experiences as I have never been apart of a merger.  But I&#039;m sure this is very common place.</description>
