Another week, another trillion dollars lost in the market, another 100,000 people laid off, another gloomy economic outlook.  This is starting to become normal?  Ugh.

Well you have to find the bright spots in life.

I’m getting to sample wedding cakes today.  I’m expecting at least five samples, but I’ll happily take ten.  There are tons of options and so I’ve suggested to The Sheconomist that we at least sample 75% of the options.  Everyone has a weakness.  Some people like to drink, or smoke, or play Halo.  Maybe you love fried chicken.  I don’t care.  Mine is desserts, and because frosting, cake takes, well, the cake.  With so many stressed involved in planning a wedding I’ve always known that one day I would sample cakes, and it would be glorious.

Like last week, I’m still taking suggestions on best of 2008 nominations.  Please email me philip [at] weakonomics.com.  Below are the categories:

Please take note I have updated the Special Features section of Weakonomics.com.  The organization has been improved and there are some hints to some upcoming features.

Finally I want to announce a new partner with Weakonomics.  YPBlogs.com as a blog aggregater for people like me, Young Professionals.  It isn’t simply a money thing, it has to do with any issues that pertain to young working types.  Another partner of mine, Qvisory, is a part of YPBlogs.com as well.  If you’re interested in that sort of a thing please check out their website and/or add them to your RSS feed.  I’ve also added their little badge to the bottom of my website.

Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll have more bad news next week.  But for now enjoy the weekend.
