on the frealz, mr. weakonomics...

your site is superb - i read your posts daily because i find them entertaining and it helps pass the time when i'm at the place that kind of pays my bills (because you know, working is completely overrated, and my coworkers make me rampage-ish/stabby). that being said, i mostly come to your site to be enlightened and informed in matters that i know very little about, but really need to. it's been a tremendous help!

suggestions:

-definitely keep the comments open - positive and negative criticism will only make the site better

-i think the idea of guest posts is a great one. i like to think of myself as informed on both sides in a lot of relevant issues, and would like to share my thoughts with others than those on my myspace friends list.

-don't ever wear jean shorts or mesh - both are unforgivable.

-you're a jerk, so am i...freakin own it. sarcasm wins.

-if you ever watch real time with bill maher, he has a segment called "new rules," which is hilarious, well-informed, and is often very poignant. a segment like that would be a nice addition if you've got the time.

-most of the formatting/content is great. you cover interesting topics, and as for a government/banking/finance focus, keep it - it's a personal finance-oriented blog. the subject matter is generally a little boring, but you breathe some life into it through anecdotal evidence and being able to relate these topics to the everyman.

so kudos, cheers, olé, and cowabunga! keep on rockin in the free world, because we don't want the turrrists (terrorists) to take that away.

i'm a fan of weakies and the college of weakon.
you should definitely open the comments on your posts - whenever i have something i want to say they're always closed. i'd be interested in seeing what other people are thinking too.

you amuse me, regularly. gracias :)

I can understand why you disabled comments originally, but honestly it's probably the best way to interact with your readers... and to let them interact with each other. So I say bring them back!

As for being a jerk, that quality is one of the endearing features of your blog. If anything, you should add more snark!

As for posts, I enjoy Weakies, College of Weakonomics, well everything really. Your "both sides" feature on universal healthcare was particularly enlightening.

I would like to read more about your day-to-day dealings with finance. You don't have to divulge every aspect of your life, but maybe a bit more so you come across as more tangibly "real."

Hope this helps.
